Remorse of Flesh is a concept EP that explores themes of longing, surrender and reclamation through an Gothic folk lens. Beginning as poetry, each piece transforms into haunting melodic landscapes using spacious reverbs, intimate vocal doubles, and deliberately restrained instrumentation to centre the narrative. The production crafts a dark, cinematic folk palette—organic at its core, with ethereal electronic textures that expand the emotional terrain. Drawing on gothic literary traditions while consciously distancing from problematic neofolk politics, the work weaves a romantic fable that examines the relationship between body, belief, and consequence in a world both familiar and unsettling.
